More than 16,200 swimmers from 430 clubs took part in the level x event between 23 October and the end of December, with more than 94,000 swims clocked during the inaugural series.

As you can imagine, with such high standard and volume, it might be easy for a club like Cormorants' to fade into the backdrop of a large national event. Alas no, we have seen unprecedented success at this inaugural event, which is due to enter series two following lockdown.

Despite the disrupted season, five of our members achieved top 100 rankings in nine events. Of which, three of these achieved ranking in the top 48 nationally, that would usually bag a guaranteed entry to the summer national championships (for those aged 14+).

James Potts: Ranked 38th (50 Back) and 96th (50 FC)

Fraser Lyne: Ranked 64th (50 FC)

Sean Savage: Ranked 91st (50 Breast)

Charlie Stevenson: Ranked 54th (50 Fly) and 32nd (50 FC)

Ella Seacombe: Ranked 98th (50 FC), 52nd (50 Breast) and 35th (50 FC).

A special mention to Nicole Parker (Silver, 50m FC) and Iona Hamilton (Silver, 50 Back) who ranked closed to the top 100m nationally and achieved podium spots, in the county rankings.
