November 2021 Swimmer of the Month
14 Dec 2021
It gives us great pleasure to announce and award the first swimmers with new awards last night, something that has been on the cards for some time. The award is recognition of many factors including communication, team work, listening skills, application of technical skills, time management among this many others. There are so many potentially deserving winners (something to work towards, each month) so the decision on this first award was particularly challenging when considering the journey we’ve been on since the beginning of the new season.
Academy - Alex Solly
This month’s academy swimmer of the month is Alex Solly. Alex won the award through his application in training, the way he’s been helping new members of Gold squad settle in, and his leadership during land warmup. Congratulations Alex (Paul Mason, Lead Academy coach)
Performance - James Lake
James has started the season with enthusiasm and desire to improve technical skills and refine his race craft. James has developed an effective working relationship with the coaching team and made huge strides in his communication and team work skills over the past 3 months.
Performance - Florence Ingram
Florence has without a doubt hit the ground running this season, making notable strides in her breastroke technical skills but also growing and developing her soft skills and land based training. Swimming is about a holistic approach to sport, it is important to train smart in the pool and match this with lifestyle management.
