Sussex Schools Championships 2022 Swimmers and Officials!

This is not a CCSC event but the information is provided for you to share with your school PE department. It is also an opportunity for officials to gain more poolside experience. 

Sussex is always well represented at the National Finals at the London Aquatic Centre in November, and it would be great to retain this representation.

Sussex Schools swimming are hosting the Secondary Schools Team Championships (Relays) again in Sept/Oct 2022. This is a qualifying event for the ESSA Secondary Schools National Team Championships.
There are two Sussex qualifying gala planned for 2022 - Weds 21st Sept and Weds 5th Oct. Both will be hosted at Pavilions in the Park, Horsham and run from 12:00 warmup with expected finish by 15:00.

Closing date for entries is Midnight, 9th Sept. 2022.

Please note that entries will be limited to ensure safe running of the galas and will follow the same format as 2021. Priority is given to Sussex Schools, ‘A’ Teams, and on a 1st come, 1st served basis. Every effort will be taken to accommodate all entries, but limitations may need to be imposed to keep the event safe. Please ensure you get your entries in early to avoid disappointment.
'B' teams and Schools from outside of Sussex may be accepted, subject to available space. Such entries will be accepted based on the date of application but will not be confirmed until after the closing date for entries and are not eligible for medals from this event.

If you have any parents that would be willing to volunteer to support this event their help would be much appreciated. We need both officials and non-technical help (including result recording, announcing, marshalling etc)

Number of Sessions: 1 (but it will be split into 2, as last year)

This gala does not require officials to be licensed and is an excellent opportunity to gain experience for relays and in a gala with manual timekeeping.
Mentoring may be available subject to numbers of volunteers.
Expenses are available for officials who do not have a child swimming at the event.
