With an announcement next week about the new timetable for CCSC, it seems right to highlight our first key meet of the 2021-2022 season. With some excellent work completed through August, the technical work will continue in September with some targeted speed work to prepare for this particular event.

Crawley SC will host their annual Lis Hartley open meet on 25th and 26th September at K2, in a similar fashion to the recent “festival of swimming” (no spectators and balcony seating for swimmers). The club will require volunteers to support this meet as we will be expected to provide poolside coaches, balcony team managers, and officials.

This is one of the very few opportunities for Sussex swimmers to achieve county qualifying times and therefore vital the club entry is completed promptly, no late entries will be accepted with all swimmers in performance groups (elite and junior) are expected to enter this meet, any swimmer not entering should explain the reasoning to Darren; swimmers with a realistic prospect of county qualification from Academy groups should discuss with Paul (lead coach) if they should enter this event before entering. Academy swimmers will not be entered unless this has been agreed with Paul.

ENTRIES CLOSE AT 5 pm on the 4th September 2021 due to the fact that this event is likely to be heavily oversubscribed and entries will be accepted by the host club on a first-come-first-served basis. No late entries will be accepted as this adds to the time spent by the organisers. You will be invoiced once the entries have been confirmed by the host club. You will be required to pay a share of the Coach Pass fees which will depend on the number of swimmers attending e.g 10 swimmers £4 each. Please do not make any payments in advance. Payments must be made once invoiced and if anyone has not paid by the event date their entries will be withdrawn but payment will still be due. No refunds will be made unless a medical certificate is provided.

Look out for the email inviting you to attend.
